About
A Signal client for Mac that I built just for myself. It is not an official Signal app. It connects to Signal on my phone with a QR code and runs as a linked device. It never creates a new account.
There are two apps that share the same data. SignalPop is a cute, pop desktop app, and the other runs in the terminal (TUI). Messages are kept in an encrypted database, with its key in the Mac keychain. Pins, mutes and archives sync with the phone.
Personal touches include scheduled send, reminders, bookmarks, a daily summary, drafts for each chat and notification rules. Scheduled messages are always confirmed before sending, and there is no auto-reply.
AI can help summarize chats, draft replies and translate, and Claude Code can read my chats too. The AI never sends anything. Replies only go into the input box as drafts. Disappearing messages and phone numbers are never passed to the AI. Built with Rust and Tauri.
